Thrown stoneware bread crock, oil-fired with Tenmoku glaze. The turned wooden lid can be used as a chopping board and has been made from a single piece of Ash, turned by Kai Venus. The holes in the side of the crock allow for air flow when the lid is in place, and it is recommended that bread is wrapped in linen or cotton and stored inside (reportedly the best way to keep bread fresh).
Made by Andrew Crouch at The Marches Pottery - maker's mark on the base.
26cm tall x 32cm wide (including handles).
Careful hand-washing advised. Wood grain may differ from photograph.
